A 25-year-old man is in police custody after two elderly women were seriously injured in a shocking england/%%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%%/melksham/”>melksham/”>Melksham crash.
Van Reverses Into Two Women
The crash happened around 1:30pm yesterday (27 September) on Lowbourne. A white ford-england/”>%%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%%ford/”>Ford Transit %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%%van, reversing, collided with two women in their 70s.
The victims were rushed to hospital and remain in potentially life-threatening condition.
Driver Arrested on Serious Charges
Police arrested a 25-year-old local man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drug-driving.
He has since been released on bail while investigations continue and evidential samples are analysed.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
"This was a serious incident which has resulted in two elderly women suffering potentially life-threatening injuries," said Sergeant James %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_3%% of the Roads Policing Unit.
