Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 12:30pm, a shocking act of vandalism occurred on the No. 85 bus at West Park Road, near the junction of York Road. A metal object was thrown through the bus window, resulting in injury to a young female passenger. The incident has left passengers traumatized and highlights the potential dangers of such reckless behaviour.
The consequences of this malicious act could have been far more severe, not only for the injured passenger but also for other individuals on the bus, including the driver. The incident has not only caused physical harm but also disrupted public transportation services.
Following the vandalism, the damaged bus was taken out of service for the remainder of the day and into the following morning. With only two buses available to serve the No. 85 route for four hours, passengers faced significant delays and inconvenience.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Cumberland Green, Kent Avenue, South Park Road, and West Park Road between 12:10 and 12:50 and witnessed suspicious activity involving four youths to come forward.
