Kent Police was called at 1.30am on Sunday 5 November 2023, to the Social Chill Bar in Week Street. It is alleged a man was punched by a person who had been holding a glass or a bottle. After the victim fell to the floor he was then repeatedly kicked.

Officers attended and arrested the suspect at a location near Broadway. The victim was taken to hospital with head injuries. He has since been discharged.
