Officers from Kent Police’s Major Crime Unit have been investigating an incident in Gabriel’s Hill, which happened between 4.15am and 4.30am on Saturday 23 September 2023.
It is alleged a woman entered an alleyway situated halfway up the hill and was raped by a man she did not know. At around 1.40am on Saturday 30 September, a suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
On the following day, Hosam Mohammad Hassan, of Lower Stone Street, Maidstone was charged with rape. He was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 2 October.
