A 30-year-old man from Birmingham has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after a violent aggravated burglary in Rugby that left a homeowner with multiple injuries.

Amandeep Kang, of Wattville Road, Birmingham, was sentenced today following his conviction for aggravated burglary and wounding with intent. He received 12 years’ imprisonment for aggravated burglary, and 8 years for wounding with intent, to run concurrently.
Terrifying Ordeal in Early Morning Break-In
The incident occurred in the early hours of July 30, 2024, when Kang broke into a house on Chestnut Road, Rugby, armed with a knife. He demanded gold from the occupant, before physically assaulting him and forcing him to open a safe.
