Police are on high alert after a car was deliberately set on fire outside a family home in england/Rochdalerochdale/”>Rochdale, sparking flames that threatened a mum and her toddler.

Car Ablaze on Driveway Sparks House Fire

The shocking arson unfolded at 1.15am on September 6 on Cleggswood Avenue, manchester/”>manchester/”>Greater Manchester. While the family slept inside, the car parked on their driveway was torched, quickly spreading flames to the house’s front.

Luckily, the car alarm’s blare woke the family in time. Mum, toddler, and pets escaped without a scratch.

One Man Arrested but Police Still Hunting Suspects

Greater Manchester Police arrested a 42-year-old man on suspicion of stalking and conspiracy to commit arson. He’s been bailed pending further investigations.

No injuries were reported, but police say the family remains “shaken and deeply affected” by the ordeal.

 

Police Release CCTV, Plead for Witnesses

Officers have shared CCTV images of a suspicious vehicle linked to the attack. The car reportedly came from Hollingworth Road and may have headed towards Lancashire or humber/west-yorkshire/”>West Yorkshire.

“This was a terrifying and deliberate attack that could have ended in tragedy,” said DC Mel Jeffery. “We believe this was a targeted incident. There is no wider threat but we’re determined to find those responsible.”

“We urge anyone who was in the area on the night of September 6 to check CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage. Even the smallest detail could help us bring justice.”
