Burglar remanded after house break in Westerham

Burglary suspect charged and remanded over break-in near Westerham A burglary suspect has been charged and remanded in custody over a break-in alleged to have taken place in Brasted, Westerham. A computer tablet was reported to have been stolen from a property in Brasted Road on 8 April 2018, after a window was smashed to gain entry. Alfred Smith, aged 35 and of no fixed address, was arrested on Tuesday 15 May and subsequently charged with burglary. He is further charged with an offence of vehicle interference, after a Fiat motorhome, parked in Wellingtonia Way, Edenbridge, was reportedly broken into between 3 April and 4 April 2018. Mr Smith is remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on 16 May.
