Cash and Cocaine Seized During Arrests in Greenhithe

Police officers have seized cash and cocaine after stopping a hire vehicle in Greenhithe. The incident took place at around 5 pm on Wednesday, 16 October 2024, when a patrol noticed a Toyota Avensis on London Road, suspected to be involved in drug supply activities.

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers detained the three occupants and conducted a drug search. They seized £1,025 in cash and four mobile phones. Several wraps of cocaine were recovered from a plastic bag, with an additional three wraps found in the vehicle’s centre console.

The three men were arrested and taken into custody. One of them, Anthony Elston, aged 39, from Byron Close, Thamesmead, London, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of criminal property (the seized cash). Elston has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 18 October.

The other two men, aged 41 and 29, have been released on bail pending further investigation.
