First Picture Released of Man Who Murdered Partner in Bexley Home

Tony Curant, the man who murdered his partner at their home in Bexley, has been pictured for the first time. Curant, 33, admitted to the murder of 33-year-old Leila Young, who was found with stab injuries to her head and neck at their residence on Penhill Road.

The tragic incident occurred just after 4pm on January 16. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Leila Young succumbed to her injuries a week later on January 23.

Tony Curant was arrested on January 20 and subsequently charged with her murder. He pleaded guilty to the charge on June 21 and is due to be sentenced in August, where he faces a mandatory life sentence.

In the wake of the tragedy, the community has come together to mourn Leila Young. At the site of the incident on Penhill Road, mourners left candles, flowers, and handwritten notes, paying tribute to her life and memory.

One note expressed profound sorrow: “So heart breaking. I am so sorry this has happened to you. Sleep tight and may you rest in peace.”

Another tribute highlighted her role as a loving mother: “Leila, you will always be remembered for the loving, brilliant mum you are. We will never forget you.”

The community continues to grapple with the senseless loss of a beloved individual, while Tony Curant awaits his sentencing in August.
