Fourth person charged – Maidstone murder

Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have charged a fourth person in connection with the death of a man in Maidstone. Wesley Adyinka, 37, died following an incident near his home in Knightrider Street during the early hours of Sunday 10 February 2019. He had suffered a stab wound to his chest. A woman in her 30s also sustained a stab wound at the scene. On Tuesday 30 April, Julian Grant, 27, of Tull Street, Mitcham, Surrey was charged with joint venture murder and grievous bodily harm with intent following authorisation from the Crown Prosecution Service. He appeared at a hearing before Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday 2 May. Three others have previously been charged in connection with the incident. Kevin Roach, 39, of Peace Close in South Norwood, London was charged with murder the day after Mr Adyinka’s death. He is also accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to the woman in her 30s who sustained a stab wound. Rodney Harris, 37, of Mann Close in Croydon, Surrey and a 17-year-old boy from Streatham, south-west London have also been charged with joint venture murder and grievous bodily harm with intent. All four suspects have been remanded in custody and will next appear at a hearing before Maidstone Crown Court on 17 May.
