Isle of Wight Man to Stand Trial for Historical Rape

An Isle of Wight man is set to stand trial on a charge of rape against a 16-year-old girl. Phillip Mingay, 56, of George Street, Ryde, faces one charge of raping a female under 16 between January 1, 1977, and December 31, 1978. Magistrates hearing the case at the Islands’ magistrates court have transferred the case to the be heard at the Crown court on the 20th May.
