Man charged over Medway pub attack

Detectives investigating a serious assault outside a Dartford pub have arrested and charged a suspect. Police and ambulance staff were called to the Flying Boat, Spital Street, at about 4.45pm on Saturday 25 May 2019 after a man suffered injuries consistent with being stabbed. Joel Jueanville, 32, of Frindsbury Road, Rochester, was arrested on Monday 3 June in connection with the incident and has subsequently been charged with attempted murder and two counts of possession of a knife. He was remanded in custody when he appeared before Medway magistrates on Tuesday 4 June and will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday 2 July. Kent Police is continuing its crackdown on knife crime and associated offences, including the supply of drugs. Carrying a knife increases the risk of being the victim of a serious assault and officers will continue to take robust and proactive action to detect, stop and search those believed to be in possession of weapons.
