Ringwood Man Jailed for Horrific Sex Crimes Against Women and Girls
A 33-year-old man has been locked up for four and a half years after being found guilty of shocking sex offences against women and girls spanning over a decade.
Depraved Crimes Uncovered
Tristan Phillip Clamp, of Northfield Road, Ringwood, was sentenced at Southampton Crown Court on Monday, 2 September. His crimes, committed between January 2010 and August 2021, include taking and possessing indecent images of children, voyeurism, secretly filming under clothing, and possession of a paedophile manual.
The judge described Clamp as a “deceitful and deviant offender” and called the paedophile manual an “abominable document.” He slammed Clamp’s “horrendous images of abuse” and questioned the sincerity of his remorse, agreeing with the victim’s statement that Clamp’s lies continued for years.
Judge Praises Victim’s Bravery
During sentencing, the judge praised the victim for her courage in reading out her victim personal statement in court, acknowledging the “severe psychological harm” Clamp’s actions caused her.
The court dismissed Clamp’s letter, calling it “self-pitying and self-serving.” Clamp must also serve a seven-and-a-half-year extended licence after prison and will be subject to restraining orders and an indefinite sexual harm prevention order. Authorities have issued forfeiture orders on all his devices containing illegal material.
Police Welcome Verdict, Urge Other Victims to Speak Out
“I am so pleased that the victims in this case have finally seen justice and seen Clamp put behind bars where he belongs,” said PC Hannah Wood.
“The victims showed incredible bravery throughout the investigation. I hope the sentence helps them move forward, knowing Clamp can’t harm anyone else. We encourage other victims to come forward. We take all allegations seriously and will work tirelessly to bring offenders to justice,” she added.
