Man shashed across the face in Thornton Heath

A man turned up at hospital with a slash wound to his face after a fight broke out in Thornton Heath’s shopping district today (Sunday).

Police cordoned off Cotford Parade after they were called by the London Ambulance Service at 2.38pm to Brigstock Road, to reports of a fight in progress.

When officers attended the scene those involved in the incident had dispersed.
Police said a short time later a man presented to a south London hospital suffering from a slash injury to his face.

Pictures shows officers manning a taped cordon opposite Tesco which ran the length of Cotford Parade, including Superdrug and the halal meat market.

A spokesman for the  Met Police  said: “His condition is not life-threatening.
“There have been no arrests at this time. A crime scene is in place and enquiries continue.”
