Man Taken to Hospital After Hit-and-Run in Dagenham – UKNIP

 

A man has been taken to hospital with a head injury following a hit-and-run collision in Marlborough Road, Dagenham, this morning.

Metropolitan Police officers were called at around 9:35am on Thursday, 17 April, after receiving reports of a man injured in the street. Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, attended the scene and found the man had been struck by a car that failed to stop.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital with a head injury, which police say is not believed to be life-threatening at this stage.

A crime scene remains in place, and enquiries are ongoing to locate the vehicle involved. No arrests have been made.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Met Police said:

“Police were called at around 09:35hrs on Thursday, 17 April to reports of a man injured after being involved in a collision with a car in Marlborough Road, Dagenham.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the man has been taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury – at this stage, his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The car did not stop at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to locate it. A crime scene remains in place.”

Witness Appeal

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police by calling 101 or messaging @MetCC on X (formerly Twitter), quoting CAD 2031/17Apr.
