An Orpington man has been jailed for more than three years after he stabbed his ex-partner six times with a tyre puncture repair tool during a violent attack described by a judge as potentially fatal.
Despite suffering six stab wounds, including one that punctured her lung, the woman managed to leave the house on foot. Conde’s family phoned for an ambulance while she struggled to make her way home, later admitting she feared sitting down in case she lost consciousness.

She was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Cover-Up Attempt
After the attack, Conde visited a friend’s home and burned his clothes in nearby woods in an attempt to destroy evidence. He was arrested by police on May 12, claiming self-defence and alleging the woman had forced her way into his home while armed.
Despite his claims, Conde later pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm.
Courtroom Condemnation
During sentencing, Recorder Collins KC told Conde:
“You only stopped when she was coughing up blood and you thought she was having a fit. This was a prolonged and serious assault. Quite obviously, you could have killed her.”
The court heard from a probation officer, who warned that Conde posed a continued threat to current and future partners.

The judge criticised Conde for portraying himself as the victim in discussions with probation services, calling it a “remarkable suggestion” given the severity of the injuries inflicted.
Victim Impact
The victim, in a statement read to the court, said:
“It’s horrible knowing someone can have this effect on your life. He’s ruined his own life as well as everybody else’s.”
Sentencing
Conde was sentenced to three years and four months in prison. His defence, Piers Kiss-Wilson, admitted that although the victim may have come to the home in anger, Conde’s response was “excessive”, and noted he had shown remorse by eventually stopping the attack and instructing relatives to call for help.
Conde will serve half of his sentence in custody before being released on licence.
