Police have charged a man following an incident in which a man exposed himself to a woman in Camberwell

Police have charged a man following an incident in which a man exposed himself to a woman in Camberwell in January. Jerome Perrins, 37, of Camberwell Road SE5, was arrested in March and released under investigation. He was charged with indecent exposure by postal requisition in December. He is due to appear at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 7 January 2020. It follows an incident around 8.45pm on Monday, 28 January in which a 19-year-old woman was approached by a man in Camberwell Road, who attempted to engage her in conversation. The woman walked along Burgess Park and onto Addington Square when she became aware that she was being followed by the man. At the junction with Rust Square, she confronted the suspect, who exposed himself to her. At this point the woman threw water over the man and left the area; she then called police and an investigation was launched.
