Totton Man Charged with Drink-Driving After Collision with Cow on Roger Penny Way

A 26-year-old man from Totton has been charged with driving a motor vehicle while over the legal alcohol limit following a collision between his vehicle and a cow. The incident occurred on Roger Penny Way, near Telegraph Hill, shortly before 9pm on Monday, 16 September.

Phelim O’Hara, of Wetherby Court, was arrested at the scene and has since been charged. He has been bailed and is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 12 November.

The collision involved O’Hara’s vehicle and a cow on the rural road, which is known for livestock grazing in the area. Fortunately, no serious injuries to the driver or other individuals have been reported at this time.

The police are continuing their investigations and are reminding motorists to remain cautious, particularly on roads where animals may be present.
