Neighbours and friends are mourning the loss of Georgina Harrison-Bailey, a vibrant 25-year-old woman who died in a devastating house fire on Northlands Road, Totton.

Inferno Traps Woman Upstairs

The fire erupted around 10.50pm on Saturday night. Georgina was trapped upstairs while her parents managed to escape outside. A man in his 60s remains in hospital, fighting for his life after the blaze.

Georgina’s Life and Legacy

  • Worked as a Health Care Assistant at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust
  • Former caregiver at Home Instead Salisbury and Romsey
  • Studied at Totton College

Local resident Janet Newman, 72, shared her sorrow: “It’s horrible, really sad. It’s usually so quiet here. I’m so sorry someone lost their life.”

Investigation Underway

Police and fire investigators are combing through the property. Hampshire police confirmed Georgina was pronounced dead at the scene and that a man in his 60s remains in critical condition.

“We ask the public to respect the family’s privacy and not to speculate during this unimaginably difficult time,” said a police spokesman.

Emergency service teams from SSEN, firefighters, and police continue to guard the scene, with a cordon still in place as inquiries proceed.
