Neighbours are in shock after 25-year-old Georgina Harrison-Bailey died in a horrifying house fire on Northlands Road, Totton.
Blaze Traps Woman Upstairs in Deadly Inferno
The fire broke out at around 10.50pm on Saturday. Georgina was trapped upstairs while her parents escaped outside. A man in his 60s remains critically ill in hospital after the blaze.
One neighbour recalled: “The fire blasted the front door away, revealing a tunnel of fire inside.”
Firefighters Blocked as Staircase Burns Away
Brave firefighters tried to reach upstairs but were stopped by the destroyed staircase. Neighbours comforted the grieving family amid the chaos.

Local resident Janet Newman, 72, said, “It’s horrible, really sad. It’s usually so quiet here. I’m so sorry someone lost their life.”
Police Probe Fiery Tragedy
Officers and fire investigators are scouring the scene. Hampshire Police confirmed Georgina was pronounced dead at the scene. The man in his 60s remains in critical condition.
“We ask the public to respect the family’s privacy and not to speculate during this unimaginably difficult time,” a police spokesman said.
Emergency crews from SSEN, firefighters, and police continue to guard the scene. A cordon remains as inquiries press on.
