Five Israeli Tourists to Stand Trial for Alleged Gang Rape in Cyprus

Five young Israeli men are set to face trial next month over the alleged gang rape of a 20-year-old British woman in the popular holiday hotspot of Ayia Napa, Cyprus.

Charges Include Rape and Kidnapping

The accused, all aged between 19 and 20, will appear before a criminal court on October 5. They face serious charges including rape, sexual coercion, forced sexual intercourse, sexual harassment, abduction, and indecent assault.

Incident Sparks Police Action

The men have been in custody since September 4, following the British tourist’s report of being gang-raped in a hotel room the previous day.

Next Court Decision Imminent

This Tuesday, the court will decide whether the accused remain in custody until trial or be released on conditional bail, pending the court date.
