An incident involving a crash near a school has left two children injured in Dagenham, an area attended by London’s Air Ambulance.
The scene unfolded on Rainham Road South, Dagenham, which is in close proximity to The Leys Primary School. The school has been contacted for a comment regarding the incident.
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) swiftly responded to the incident this morning, November 30. The first medic arrived at the scene within four minutes of receiving the call.
An eight-year-old and a ten-year-old were treated for minor injuries at the scene by LAS crews.
A spokesperson for the LAS provided details of their response, stating, “We were called at 8.37am today (30 November) to reports of a road traffic collision on Rainham Road South, Dagenham. We sent multiple resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast-response car, an incident response officer, and a clinical team manager. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. We treated an adult for a head injury and two children for minor injuries before taking them to the hospital as a priority.
The Metropolitan Police also confirmed their involvement in the incident, indicating that a car had collided with three pedestrians at the scene. A woman sustained head injuries, while two children, aged eight and ten, suffered minor injuries. All three were transported to the hospital, and the police await updates on the woman’s condition.
The driver of the car involved in the incident stopped at the scene, and as of now, no arrests have been made. Authorities have confirmed that Rainham Road South remains closed in both directions.
