Tragedy at Notting Hill Carnival as Woman Dies After Stabbing
Notting Hill Carnival turned deadly when 32-year-old Cher Maximen tragically died from stab wounds sustained nearly a week earlier. The incident unfolded on Sunday, 25 August, just before 6pm on Golborne Road, W10.
Heroic Police Aid Victim on Scene
Officers patrolling the carnival spotted Cher after she had been stabbed. They quickly administered emergency first aid until paramedics arrived. Cher was rushed to hospital in critical condition, but despite their efforts, she passed away early on Saturday, 31 August.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
The Met’s Specialist Crime Command took charge of the investigation immediately after the attack. On Tuesday morning, 20-year-old Shakiel Thibou from Masbro Road, W12, was arrested.
