Youngster escapes serious injuries after being Hit by Car in Cowes

A child is tonight recovery after escaping serious injury after being hit by a car whilst trying to cross the road during this afternoon school run in Cowes. Police and Paramedics where were called to Ash Grove at around 3pm when a child was injured following an incident with a passing car. The youngster has been taken to St Mary’s hospital by ambulance to be checked over following an incident that happened near to primary school in Cowes this afternoon (Wednesday). The youngster a pupil at Lanesend Primary School received a foot injuries they where taken by ambulance to St Mary’s It is understood that the injuries are not life changing. The incident comes this week as Councillors on the Isle of Wight continue there fight to secure funding for School crossing patrols.
