Five Arrested After Shocking Southampton Street Robbery and Stabbing Spree
Police have swooped on five suspects following a violent string of incidents across Southampton and Netley on Monday afternoon and evening. Detectives are now hunting witnesses who might have captured footage or have crucial information.
Teen Gang Violence Rocks Netley and Sholing
It kicked off around 4.15pm on Station Road, Netley, where officers were called to break up a fight involving a group of youths. A 15-year-old boy was found injured with wounds to his arm and chest. Fortunately, his injuries are not thought to be serious.
After dispersing the group, police say the youngsters boarded a train heading west towards Southampton. They arrived in Sholing where trouble flared again.
Mobile Phone Snatched and Man Stabbed in Broad Daylight
At 6.30pm on Sholing Road, a 15-year-old lad was threatened by a gang of boys and girls demanding his mobile phone. They took it and left without further violence.
But the mayhem didn’t end there. At 8pm, emergency crews rushed to Merryoak Road in Sholing. A 19-year-old man had suffered stabbing injuries. He was taken to Southampton General Hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.

All were arrested in connection with the incidents, signalling a serious clampdown by local police.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
“We believe these incidents are linked and targeted. This kind of disorder will not be tolerated,” said Detective Inspector Rob Heath. “We are increasing patrols and want anyone who witnessed what happened to contact us immediately.”
He added: “Did you catch anything on dash cam, CCTV, or your phone? Were you on the train heading west to Southampton after 4pm and saw a group of young people? Your information could be vital.”
