An inmate has been charged with assault and attempted murder after attacking prison staff in separate violent incidents at two high-security jails.

Brutal Attacks at HMP Full Sutton and HMP Wakefield

Ahmed Ali Alid, 47, a Moroccan national, is facing court over savage assaults at HMP Full Sutton near York on August 8 and at HMP Wakefield on October 21 last year. Counter Terrorism Policing North East confirmed Alid is charged with attempted murder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon inside prison.

He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court this Wednesday.

Life-Sentenced Prisoner with Violent Track Record

Alid remains in custody within the prison system. He is already serving a life sentence for murder and attempted murder. Earlier this year, he was found guilty of assaulting two emergency workers after attacking police officers while in custody.
