Just Stop Oil Chaos: Park Lane Blocked and Aston Martin Vandalised
Protesters from Just Stop Oil caused mayhem on London’s Park Lane this Sunday. At around 11 a.m., eco-activists glued themselves to the road, bringing the busy street to a halt. They demanded the government stop issuing new oil and gas licences.
Aston Martin Targeted in Bright Orange Attack
One demonstrator sprayed bright orange paint across the front of the luxury Aston Martin showroom, turning heads and sparking outrage. The stunt comes amid growing frustration over environmental protests disrupting daily life.
Government Readies Tough New Crackdown
Home Secretary Suella Braverman is fighting back. After holding talks this morning with Mayor Sadiq Khan and Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi, the government is set to apply for a new injunction specifically targeting Just Stop Oil. Transport for London already has an order against the similar group Insulate Britain, but the new protest squad demands fresh legal action.
New Laws to Punish Protest Tactics
Braverman’s Public Order Bill aims to slap a six-month prison sentence or an unlimited fine on those who ‘lock on’ or glue themselves to roads and buildings. The Bill would make disrupting critical sites like airports, railways, and oil refineries a criminal offence.
Ms Braverman warned, “I will not capitulate to protestors attempting to hold the British public hostage.”
