Police have arrested a man following reports of an incident inside a restaurant in #Benfleet today, Thursday 10 September.

Officers received reports at around 1.55pm that a man entered Aspera Restaurant, in London Road, holding a dumbbell and knife.

It’s believe that the man started shouting before he was restrained by customers.

A man suffered a head injury during the incident and has been taken to hospital.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Police  are treating this a targeted attack with no wider risk to the public.

Anyone with information and any dash cam and mobile footage is asked to call Basildon CID on 101 quoting incident 626 of 10/09.
