Man Holds Dumbbell and Knife in Fiery Restaurant Attack
Police swooped today after a man stormed into Aspera Restaurant on London Road brandishing a dumbbell and knife. The shocking incident unfolded just before 2pm on Thursday, 10 September.
Customer Courage Stops Rampage
The suspect allegedly started shouting wildly inside the eatery before brave customers jumped in to restrain him. During the struggle, a man suffered a head injury and was rushed to hospital.
Arrest Made in Targeted Knife and Dumbbell Assault
Officers have arrested a man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Police confirmed this was a targeted attack and assured the public there is no wider threat.
