Just before 10pm on March 16, police rushed to Winchester Road following a brazen handbag snatch.

Victim Attacked and Hurt During Bold Theft

A woman in her 90s was walking eastbound with a friend when two strangers struck. The pair grabbed her burgundy handbag straight from her lap, causing her to fall into the road.

She suffered cuts and bruises to her head, face, arm, and hand. Thankfully, injuries aren’t life-threatening, but she was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Suspects Flee Towards Botley Road

  • Two suspects, about 5ft 5ins tall and slim, made off on foot.
  • One wore dark clothing while the other had light clothes and a hood up.

Police Seek Public’s Help to Crack the Case

Officers have launched inquiries and want to hear from anyone with dash cam or doorbell footage. Witnesses who saw two suspicious figures around Winchester Road or Botley Road are urged to come forward.
