Man in His 40s Stabbed to Death in Swindon

Wiltshire Police rushed to Broad Street, Swindon, at around 9pm on Tuesday (11/07) after reports of a stabbing. Tragically, the victim, a man in his 40s, died later in hospital despite emergency efforts.

Suspect Arrested, Murder Investigation Underway

A man, also in his 40s, has been arrested and is currently in police custody. Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker confirmed a full murder probe is in progress.

“We have launched a murder investigation after a report that a man was stabbed in Broad Street, Swindon, yesterday evening,” said DCI Walker.

“A man in his 40s is in custody for questioning. Scenes have been set up in Broad Street and Galsworthy Close, Liden, so expect heavy police presence.”

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the stabbing or has any information to get in touch immediately. DCI Walker stressed:

“If you witnessed what happened or have any information, no matter how small, please contact us.”

The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving specialist police support. Police urge the community to stay calm but vigilant as the investigation continues.
