Masked Thief Hits Middleton Shop in Early Morning Raid
Police rushed to Chapel Walk, Middleton, at around 9am on Friday after a brazen robbery. A staff member was opening up when a masked man forced his way inside and made her unlock the safe.
Stocky Suspect Escapes with Big Cash Haul
The unknown male threatened the worker and demanded a large sum of cash before fleeing on foot towards Foxall Street. He’s described as white, stocky, about 5ft 7-8in tall, dressed head-to-toe in black including a hoodie, baseball cap, jogging bottoms, and a face mask.
Police Hunt Man Spotted in Area Day Before
Officers believe the suspect may have been lurking nearby the day before the heist. Police are urgently seeking anyone with info or footage from CCTV, dashcams, or doorbell cameras in the area.
Detective Sergeant Christopher Shannon, of GMP Rochdale Division, said: “This is a concerning incident and the local community should know we’re working hard to investigate. Anyone with information should come forward as it could be vital to our enquiries.”
