Disturbing Incident on Hawthorn Road
Two girls in Selby got more than they bargained for when a man in a black car stopped to ask about local fast-food joints. But things quickly took a shocking turn. The man had his trousers and underwear down and was indecently touching himself. The girls escaped unharmed and immediately reported the shocking episode to North Yorkshire Police.
Police Launch Full Investigation
The unsettling encounter took place on Hawthorn Road between 7.40pm and 7.45pm last Friday, June 30, 2023. Since then, police have launched a full-scale probe, including house-to-house visits, CCTV reviews, and tracking the car using ANPR technology.
Authorities Hunt Suspect and Urge Public Help
Officers believe they’ve zeroed in on the vehicle involved and are currently searching it. Authorities are calling on locals near Hawthorn Road to check any private CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage from that evening. This footage could be crucial in catching the culprit.
North Yorkshire Police urge anyone with info to call 101 and help bring this man to justice.
