Man Stabbed in South East London: Air Ambulance Scrambles to Scene image

Police swooped on St Margaret’s Terrace, Plumstead, after a stabbing rocked the area on Monday, March 16. The alarm was raised at 3.11pm by the London Ambulance Service.

A man in his 30s was rushed to the hospital with stab wounds. Thankfully, his injuries are said to be non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.

Arrest Made But No Charges

A suspect, a man in his 20s, was arrested later that afternoon on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. However, after questioning, he was released without any further action.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

The Met confirmed investigations are ongoing, and they need the public’s help. A spokesperson said:

“Police and London’s Air Ambulance were called by the London Ambulance Service at 15:11hrs on Monday, 16 March to attend St Margaret’s Terrace, Plumstead after reports of a stabbing. A man in his 30s was treated at the scene and taken to hospital, where he remains. His condition is non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.”

“A man in his 20s was arrested later that afternoon on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm but was released with no further action. No further arrests have been made and enquiries continue.”

“Anybody with information that may help police is urged to call 101, quoting reference 4443/16MAR. Alternatively, you can report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

Residents are urged to come forward and assist police as they hunt for the truth behind the stabbing.
