Hare Coursing Horror: Men Flee Police Leaving Animal Cruelty Nightmare in Otterden

Police swooped on a 4×4 in Otterden at 11pm on Saturday 20 November 2021 after reports of hare coursing. The vehicle stopped, but two men bolted on foot, evading officers.

Lurchers Seized, Cruelty Uncovered

Officers searched the 4×4 and found three lurchers that were immediately taken to a vet for urgent care. Disturbingly, the vehicle also contained 14 dead rabbits and an injured fox that sadly died later on.

Forensics and Furious Police

Crime Scene Investigators launched a full forensic examination of the vehicle. Sergeant Darren Walshaw blasted the act:

“The level of animal cruelty displayed on this occasion is disturbing. We are determined to find those responsible for this cruel and illegal act. Along with the suffering caused to animals, the suspects trespassed and caused extensive property damage.”
