Daylight Assault Shocks Salisbury
Wiltshire Police are hunting for answers after a woman was attacked on The Downs, Salisbury, Monday afternoon, 23 September 2024.
Man Threatens and Pushes Woman
Just before 3pm, a woman was approached from behind by a man near Bishopdown Road. He threatened her, then shoved her to the ground before fleeing the scene. The victim suffered minor injuries.
Suspect on the Loose
The attacker is described as a white male with stubble, wearing a grey tracksuit with his hood up.
Detective Inspector Eirin Martin said: “This is a really concerning incident where a man has targeted a lone woman during daylight hours. We urge anyone who was in the area on Monday and may have seen someone matching the suspect’s description to come forward.”
Police Seek Dashcam and CCTV Footage
Residents and drivers are urged to check doorbell cams, dashcams, or CCTV for any sightings. DI Martin added, “We cannot solve these offences alone. We need the community to work with us to help keep the area safe.”
Officers in uniform and plain clothes continue to patrol the area as the investigation unfolds.
