Four Teens Admit Beastly Attack on Sheep in Gosport
Four teenagers have pleaded guilty to viciously injuring sheep in Gosport’s Alver Valley Nature Reserve. The sickening attacks left several animals badly hurt, including one losing an eye.
Bricks, Sticks and Broken Horns
Police were called on Tuesday 30 April after reports of a group hurling bricks at sheep. Further inquiries revealed the same sheep had been chased and struck with sticks on another occasion.
Officers arriving at the scene found animals with snapped-off horns and serious eye injuries. The poor creatures were visibly shaking and panting from trauma.
Swift Justice from Hampshire’s Country Watch
Hampshire Constabulary’s dedicated Country Watch team spearheaded the investigation, targeting rural and wildlife crime. Following multiple arrests, four youths were charged with causing unnecessary suffering to protected animals.

Police Speak Out on Appalling Abuse
“These incidents were truly shocking… this was the most severe case of cruelty caused by youths to animals that I have seen,” said Police Staff Investigator Anna Presswell from the Country Watch Team.
“All officers and staff were equally appalled. One sheep lost an eye and all were visibly distressed when police arrived.”
“I hope this sends a clear message about the harsh consequences of animal cruelty.”
