Police launch investigation after a man has been shot at Prospect Park in Reading this evening. A man has been airlifted to hospital after being shot by a weapon on the Tilehurst Road side of the park. The shooting took place yard from a child play park area. Police were called to Prospect Park at around 8pm today after reports that a man had been shot. The victim, a 23 year-old man, was located at the scene with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital by air ambulance and is currently in a stable buy doxycycline condition. Local Policing Area Commander for Reading, Supt Stan Gilmour said: “I would like to reassure the public that this attack appears to have been targeted against an individual and does not represent a threat to the community. “A thorough investigation is being carried out, which means there will be an increased police presence in the area in the coming days.
