Thirty-Two Schoolgirls Rescued After Kayaking Incident at Cullercoats Bay

Thirty-two schoolgirls from Ateres High School were dramatically rescued after encountering difficulties while kayaking at Cullercoats Bay on Tuesday afternoon.

Multiple lifeboat crews from Tynemouth, Cullercoats, and Blyth launched a rapid response following emergency reports from the scene. All of the girls were safely brought ashore during a coordinated rescue operation.

One Taken to Hospital as Precaution

One girl was taken to hospital for precautionary checks, while the remaining students were assessed at the scene. No serious injuries have been reported.
