Probe launched in Ryde after serial thefts from vehicles

Police on the Isle of Wight are investigating a series thefts from vehicles overnight that occurred in Ryde during the early hours of this morning (Wednesday). Five vehicles have had their windows trashed whilst parked on Marlborough Road. a number of items have been taken from the vehicles after the orgy of vandalism by two men. The incident is thought to have occurred sometime around 05:00 or 05:30 this morning (Wednesday). Unlucky for the thieves one vehicle owners captured the incident on his homes CCTV system. The pair are understood to have travelled from the Westridge direction towards East Hill Road. Hampshire Constabulary have launched an investigation after a number of owners called to make a claim that their vehicles had been targetted. Officers are linking the series of theft and criminal damages Anyone with information is asked to contact Police on 101, quoting 44190140248.
