This evening, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire at a derelict hotel in Sandown, Isle of Wight (Tuesday).
Smoke can be seen billowing from the roof space of the former Parkbury Hotel off The Broadway, where several fire engines have arrived to put out the fire.
Four appliances from Sandown, Ryde, and Newport are present, as are senior duty officers and the Newport Aerial Ladder Platform.
Police have shut down Broadway in both directions.
Additional resources have been mobilised, including East Cowes and Cowes appliances, as well as the Incident Command Unit from Newport.
The Aerial Ladder Platform has been installed on Winchester Park Road, and other appliances have been installed around the former hotel.
Main jets, hose reel jets, and breathing apparatus are used by the crews.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has also arrived on the scene, along with an operational commander.
Around 30 firefighters are now on the scene. Two appliances from Southampton have been called in to provide fire protection across the island.
