Tragic Crash Claims Beloved Teacher Moyra Whelan
Moyra Whelan, 35, died last Friday after a horrific four-vehicle crash on the B4425 near Aldsworth, just ten miles from Cirencester. She was one of two victims killed in the smash that also hospitalised ten others.
Family and School Pay Heartfelt Tribute
Moyra’s family spoke of their grief, saying: “We are all mourning the passing of our beloved daughter and sister Moyra Whelan.” The East London native, second youngest of seven siblings, was known for her warmth and zest for life.
Devoted Teacher and Friend
Moyra was a passionate history teacher at Woodbridge High School in Woodford, London. Her colleagues and pupils adored her. Headteacher Steven Hogan said,
“This is the most terrible and tragic loss to our school. Ms Whelan was an outstanding history teacher and department head. Her classroom was a fantastic place, full of energy. She helped so many students with her wisdom, knowledge, and expertise.”
Moyra was on her way to a schoolmate’s wedding when the tragic accident occurred. Known as an inspiring educator and a fun-loving friend, she truly lived life to the fullest and leaves behind a loving community in shock and sorrow.
