Funky Pigeon Hit by Cyber Attack, Halts Orders

Greetings card giant Funky Pigeon was slammed by a cyber attack on April 14, forcing it to temporarily shut down its services. The hack has left the beloved card company unable to process new orders while it sorts out the mess.

Immediate Action Taken

Funky Pigeon confirmed the breach in a statement, revealing they took their systems offline as soon as the attack was spotted. They also suspended new orders from their website and called in external cyber experts for a full forensic probe.

“Part of our systems were subject to a cybersecurity incident on Thursday 14 April 2022, which has meant that we are temporarily unable to fulfil orders while we restore services,” the company said.

“Our teams have been working around the clock to investigate and resolve this incident. We know the compromised systems did not store customer payment data, so bank and credit card details remain safe. These details are always secured through encrypted, accredited third parties.”

Customer Data Under Review

While Funky Pigeon stresses that no financial info or passwords appear compromised, it is still probing whether personal details such as names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and personalised card designs were accessed.

“We will update customers if any significant impact is found,” the company added. “We understand this incident may cause concern and apologise to all Funky Pigeon customers for the disruption and worry.”

What This Means for You

  • No new orders can be placed until the investigation wraps up.
  • Financial data like card numbers and account passwords are believed safe.
  • Personal details are still being checked for breach impact.

Funky Pigeon promises to keep shoppers posted and says it takes data security “extremely seriously” after the cyber shock.
