Local critics have taken aim at the Labour-led council, accusing it of failing to take meaningful action against illegal dumping. “Unfortunately, our Labour council don’t really offer any real deterrent for fly-tipping,” one resident said. “We just see a van picking up rubbish now and again. That’s not a solution.”
Calls for Change and Political Criticism
Frustration has also been voiced over the council’s spending priorities, with some residents pointing to recent decisions, including the closure of youth programmes and the launch of equality and diversity funding, as evidence of misaligned priorities.
