In Canterbury, snow is expected to begin in the afternoon, though it is forecast to be relatively light. Dover, on the other hand, may encounter substantial snowfall. The maximum temperature expected for Kent today is a chilly 3°C.

In addition to the snowfall, the Met Office has issued an ice warning for Kent that extends into the early hours of tomorrow. This alert implies that icy patches may form on ungritted roads, pavements, and cycle paths, potentially increasing the risk of slips or falls on surfaces covered with ice or snow.

The Met Office’s statement regarding the ice warning reads, “In addition, some icy surfaces are possible for a time. However, the chance this reduces by dawn on Tuesday as snow showers clear to the west and surfaces dry out.” The warning is set to be in effect from 3 PM today (Monday, January 8) until 3 AM tomorrow.
