Two Metropolitan Police officers remain in hospital after their vehicle was involved in a collision in south London this morning.

Emergency services were called to Western Road, Mitcham, at around 8.13am on Monday (18 August) following reports of a crash involving a marked police car and another vehicle.

A Met Police spokesperson confirmed both officers suffered injuries in the collision and were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-changing.

The spokesperson added:

“Two officers remain in hospital following a road traffic collision in Western Road, Mitcham at 08:13hrs on Monday, 18 August. Their injuries are confirmed to be non-life-changing. The marked police vehicle collided with another car. The owner of this vehicle was not hurt.”

No arrests have been made and enquiries into the circumstances of the collision are continuing.
