Wiltshire Police Appeal for Dashcam and Doorbell Footage After Salisbury Assault

Wiltshire Police are renewing their appeal for information following an assault on a woman in Salisbury on Monday, 23 September 2024.

The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. on The Downs, off Bishopdown Road, when a woman was approached from behind by a man. He threatened her before pushing her to the ground and fleeing the scene in the Bishopdown area. The woman sustained minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male with stubble, wearing a grey tracksuit with the hood up.

Detective Inspector Eirin Martin expressed concern over the incident, stating, “This is a really concerning incident where a man has targeted a lone woman during daylight hours. We urge anyone who was in the area on Monday and may have seen someone matching the suspect’s description to come forward.”

Residents and motorists are asked to check any dashcam, doorbell, or CCTV footage for sightings of the suspect. “We cannot solve these offences alone. We need the community to work with us to help keep the area safe,” added DI Martin.

Officers will continue to patrol the area in both uniform and plain clothes as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information or relevant footage is urged to contact Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting log 54240112410.
