UPDATED: A2 Wilmington Interchange to be closed in both directions following Police led incident for a number of hours

Officers from Kent Roads Policing are dealing with a serious incident on the A2 Wilmington, Dartford. Both carriageways are currently closed and diversions are in place
Officers and Paramedics were called just after 3am on Saturday morning (12th November 2022)
A number of vehicles can be seen on the coastbound carriageway with Police and an ambulance on the London-bound carriage.
All lanes have been closed in the section of the carriageway.

The closure is likely to be in place for a number of hours whilst officers carry out an investigation and drivers are being asked to plan ahead and seek an alternative route.
Kent Police have been approached for more information.
A spokesman for National Highways said: The A2 in Kent is closed in both directions between the M25/A282 and A2018 near Dartford due to a Kent Police-led incident. They are on the scene and being assisted by National Highways Traffic Officers. The closures will remain in place for police investigation work.

Diversion Route

Road users travelling westbound are advised to take the following route.

  • From the M25 J2 take the A225 (Princes Road)
  • Continue on the A225 then re-join the A2 at Dartford Heath

Road users travelling eastbound are advised to follow the westbound diversion in reverse.
