A desperate search is underway in Slade Green after a six-month-old puppy named Teddy went missing on Monday evening, sparking community concern and an urgent appeal for information.
Teddy, a young black-and-white dog described as friendly but now likely terrified and injured, was last seen at around 8pm near Saint Augustine’s Church, hours after he reportedly ran from the scene of a collision near Manor Road, DA8 2AD, at approximately 5pm.
The family, who posted an appeal on local Facebook groups including Slade Green & Erith Gossip, say Teddy suffered a hit-and-run and may be hiding injured and without food, water, or shelter.
“Teddy is more than a pet — he’s family,” said a relative. “He’s only six months old and probably scared and confused. We just want to bring him home safely.”
Teddy is wearing a collar marked with the name “Julie” and her phone number, and answers to the names Teddy, Ted, Teddy Bear, and Teddy Dog.
