Cliff Rescue Drama in West Wight: Woman Airlifted After Fall

A huge rescue mission unfolded in West Wight tonight as emergency crews rushed to save a woman who fell down cliffs in Compton Bay after an allergic reaction.

Multi-Agency Rescue Operation

Just before 7pm on Thursday, two coastguard search and rescue teams from Ventnor and Needles swung into action. They were joined by the Coastguard Helicopter, Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue service, and Co-responders to launch a major recovery effort.

Woman Airlifted to Hospital

Rescuers swiftly recovered the woman from the cliff area. She was then airlifted by the coastguard helicopter to hospital for urgent treatment.

Stable and Recovering

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Co-Responders were also on scene, dispatched by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service. Doctors say the woman is now stable and making a steady recovery.
